Hi there!

Thanks for stopping by and welcome to A B B I E W R O T E!  Instead of boring you with details of myself, I thought I’d shake things up a bit and let some of my friends and family tell you a little bit about me. I hope you enjoy these fun, very descriptive, and slightly embarrassing stories and facts!

“Commonly referred to as ‘Auntie Abbie’, Abbie is the best dog aunt around to her Catahoula Leopard nephew, Dexter. She is always up for an adventure whether it’s grabbing a beer after a long day at work, hitting up Dimo’s for mac & cheese pizza after a crazy night out, or just chilling on the couch watching One Tree Hill reruns. Abbie is a dependable friend who is by your side through thick and thin.” – Ali, human roommate

“Once a baby who “earned” the nicknames, The Abinator and The Michelin Baby, and barely escaped being named (by her cousin) Adonis Jordan, Abbie was given the excellent legal name she grew up with. She is now a successful event planner living the single life in the Windy City with two roommates, one human and one not. Abbie is always eager to go to bars, concerts, bars. Did I mention bars?!? (Probably just research for her profession). Abbie recently did further research in London and Italy. It was tough, but someone had to do it!” – Kathy, aunt 1 of 5

“Abbie is a thoughtful, caring person, loyal to friends and family. She takes time to carefully review decisions that have enriched her life. Abbie knows what is important to her beliefs and when her mind is made up, she pursues her interest with conviction. Underlying what seems as a smooth surface is a current swirling with humor and curiosity that carries her to interesting places and warm friendships.” – Warren, pops

“Abbie is one hell of a woman! She sticks by her friends, showing them the most sincere support and unconditional love. She changes people, but stays the same kind, determined, fierce person I’ve always known. I have no idea what I’d do without Abbie…and I’m so happy that I don’t ever have to find out!” – Ellyn, birth month sharer

“The loving and passionate sister and best friend that she is, Abbie always seems to have advice for any situation I get myself into. Loyal beyond belief, she will support you through thick and thin. Abbie will show you unfathomable love and dedication that you won’t understand until it is gone. She is truly one of a kind.” — Alec, Sibling Protection Program co-creator

“Abbie’s sense of style and fashion started during her early toddler years. She would dress up with her cousin(s) and parade around the holiday dinner table entertaining her extended family. There would be several wardrobe changes, along with music and sometimes little skits to go along – all choreographed and directed by Abbie. Some outfits were cuter than others, and some….well, let’s just say pattern and color didn’t necessarily matter as a toddler. Maybe that was the early Bohemian stage of style! She also had a hat collection that would make the Queen Mum jealous – all handmade by her creative mother. I’m happy to say that through the years, Abbie has fine-tuned her art.” -Merry, aunt 2 of 5

“My daughter is a lot like me. She loves to find a treasure (usually something to wear), a little reserved but likes to have fun, likes to spend time with family and is a happy, lighthearted person, but unlike her mom, is a very creative thinker and writer and who can sometimes be a little stubborn!!!” – Holly, creative gene

“Abs…to me, in my most thought out and sincere pondering, is a true confectioner of words. Nay…a pure dreamer of dreams. Her mindset of always to be caring and to paint smiles on the many faces she encounters, is only surpassed by her endless good deeds to those closest to her. Always embraced, inevitably shared and uniquely hers, we all should hang on the words of this truly masterful heart.” – Rob, winer, diner and all around good timer

“Auntie Abbie gives the best shoulder scratches – they’re so good I fold in half with the biggest smile on my face. Our routine of snuggles on her heated blanket every morning are my favorite. Sometimes she takes me on walks, but I really walk her. She lets me find the biggest sticks and take them home to surprise mom. When I’m really good, she gives me lots of treats and belly rubs.” – Dexter, non-human roommate
